Counsel Shaped by
Malaysian Markets

Perdana Legal was established to provide focused, transaction-ready legal support to companies navigating corporate change in Malaysia — without the overhead of a full-service generalist firm.

Who We Are

A Focused Practice for Corporate Transactions

Perdana Legal was founded with a clear remit: to advise Malaysian and cross-border acquirers on the legal dimensions of corporate transactions with the depth that those transactions require. Our practice sits at the intersection of corporate law, commercial negotiation, and regulatory navigation in Malaysia.

The founding partners observed that mid-market transactions — deals between RM 5 million and RM 200 million — were often underserved by either large firms focused on landmark transactions or generalist practices without specific M&A depth. Perdana Legal was structured to fill that space.

Operating from Level 22 of Tower 2, Petronas Twin Towers, our team works directly with deal teams, finance advisors, and company boards to support transactions from first review through to post-completion integration — treating each file with the attention it warrants.

Our Mission

To bring transactional clarity and legal precision to every corporate deal we are involved in — helping clients understand what they are acquiring, structure it properly, and manage the legal aftermath with competence.

Our Approach

We treat legal advisory as a function that should support commercial outcomes — not obstruct them. Our counsel is direct, clearly reasoned, and calibrated to the scale and risk profile of each transaction.

Our Values

Integrity in every assessment, transparency in our advice, and a disciplined approach to risk identification. We do not present findings in a way that inflates or minimises — our reports tell the complete picture.

Standards & Practice

How We Maintain Quality

Bar Council Membership

All practising lawyers at Perdana Legal hold current admissions to the Malaysian Bar and adhere to the Legal Profession Act 1976 and professional conduct rules.

Conflict-of-Interest Checks

Every new engagement undergoes a formal conflict check prior to acceptance. We decline matters where independent advice cannot be given without compromise.

Client Confidentiality

All client information and transaction data are handled under strict solicitor-client privilege and confidentiality obligations, with appropriate data security protocols in place.

Clear Written Deliverables

Every engagement produces defined written outputs — due diligence reports, draft agreements, or post-completion checklists — reviewed internally before delivery to clients.

Continuing Professional Development

Our team participates in Bar Council CPD requirements and subject-specific M&A training, including developments in Companies Act 2016 interpretation and capital markets regulation.

Responsive Client Communication

We commit to responding to client queries within one business day and to providing regular status updates on active matters without waiting to be asked.

M&A Legal Advisory in Malaysia

Corporate acquisitions in Malaysia are governed by the Companies Act 2016, the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 in regulated situations, and a range of sector-specific licensing frameworks. Transacting parties need counsel who understands how these rules interact in practice, not just in theory.

Perdana Legal's work is shaped by that landscape. Whether reviewing a target's corporate history for a private equity buyer, preparing share purchase documentation for a founder-led sale, or managing the Companies Commission filings after a deal closes, the work requires consistent attention to Malaysian corporate procedure and commercial context.

Our practice focuses on transactions where careful legal review makes a tangible difference to deal outcomes — mid-market deals where the legal team is an active part of the transaction process rather than a service provider brought in at the final stage.
